Who are You Anyway???
My name is Vaughn Johnson. I am a copywriter who spent many years behind the headsets of various technical support jobs and neck-deep in credit card debt. At that time, Tech Support Monkey was hatched as a way to stay sane in a world of angry callers and double-digit interest rates.
What is Your Process?
I draw and ink all of my comics by hand on an old animation light table of unknown age with ordinary printer paper. After that, each strip is scanned into the computer and colored with Photoshop CS4. The same program is used to add word balloons and special effects (if any). The fonts used are free versions* of Anime Ace 2.0 and Badaboom by Nate Piekos of Blambot. Finally, the comics are uploaded to the site using WordPress and The Webcomic/Inkblot Template.
My Computer Won’t Turn on, How Do I Fix It?
Sigh. Well, the first thing you do is check to see if the computer is plugged in to an outlet. If it is, try plugging it into another outlet. If that doesn’t work, and the computer is plugged into a power strip, make sure that the power strip is turned on. If that doesn’t work, check the back of the Computer box where the power cord connects to it. Some computers have a little rocker switch in addition to the power button on the front. If you see a little rocker switch on the back, make sure it is set to “|” and not “O”. If these steps do not work, Try switching out the power cord with a known working one. Finally, if that doesn’t work, you may need to take your computer in to a qualified service technician.
Of course, if you can’t power up your computer you won’t be able to read these directions so the point is probably moot anyway.
